Role Description

The Head of Engineering at Talon is tasked with the overall management of our Engineering Team at Talon, covering both inhouse staff and engineers from 3rd parties. This includes assisting the CTO in making technology decisions on behalf of the company, including managing a technology budget and making investments to align the company with its vision for its technology needs.

THE ROLE_

The Head of Engineering has experience of delivering large software products and global software rollouts esp. SaaS platforms. They have extensive experience in leading large engineering teams to deliver large software development programmes using Agile methodologies especially Extreme programming.  With demonstrable experience and thought process of defining the right balance between process, speed of delivery and business value.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR_

  • Someone who has led the successful development of new and mature products
  • Led teams of up to 10 engineers
  • Worked with a variety of architecture patterns

A DAY IN THE LIFE_

As Head of Engineering you will be responsible for the engineering ceremonies of your team, from backlog grooming and standups to showcases. You will work closely with the Director of Tech Ops to ensure our products are bug free and perform as expected. You will also work with the Product Owners to deliver our business strategy whilst keeping a focus on the quality of the products being delivered.
